Donation Recieved!

Took me a little time, but with that time came additional funding. Together we have raised $700.

I am happy to report that that $700 is now on its way to help with Japan Relief. I donated the money personally to the International Federation Red Cross and the Red Cresent Society. Both work directly with the Japanese Red Cross. The money is directly going to Japan.

Thank you all who have put in their support for this cause. It would not have been possible without all of your help. Our efforts to help others is not over...until then, go ride your bicycles, save some gas, smile with others, and live life. I wish you all greatness.

See you in the future!

Kiryoku RECAP!

Kiryoku was a success!!!!

I want to say thank you to everyone! Big thank you to all of our sponsors! The helpers, sponsors, and racers, it wouldn't have been what it was without you. Your effort in this was much appreciated.

With registration payments, donations, and the raffle tickets, we raised nearly $600!!!! That is amazing! I am going to do my research and make sure this money will be going straight to Japan in an effort to help rebuild the lives of those affected.

This was an 11 checkpoint race. The area stretched from Fremont, Union City, and Newark. Strong wind either helped break peoples time or they benefited from it. Mapping was critical for these checkpoints.

Congratulations to Christian Torres who took 1st place, Charles Yambao who took 2nd, and Andrew "Fast" Ho who took third. They finished in little over two hours.

Pictures will be up soon. Out of 37 racers, 24 finished. Here's the results of the people who finished:

Kiryoku "Inner Strength" Alleycat

The race is only two days away...

I organized this race with two things in mind:

1. The horrific tragedy that swept through Japan took many lives and left many people without loved ones, shelter, and so much more. We've all seen the pictures...buildings reduced to nothing, villages swept away, people looking for their loved ones through the rubble...

With such tragedy comes unity. People from all over the world has lent their lending hand, time, money, and their hearts to help rebuild a country known to overcome such obstacles. The only thing to do with any tragedy such as this, is to move on and help rebuild. My race's true intentions is to help with that. My reason for helping is in my blood...Japan is in my thoughts and in my dreams. It is my future.

2. Cycling has long been a part of me. My passion for cycling involves all areas of it. It is who I am. It is who we are. Fixed gear is something different, and I am happy with where it is going. This common thread that connects us is something I'm very thankful for, and I want to give back.

This race is for Japan, this race is for you. It is never too late to help. See you all Saturday!

PRIZES WILL BE POSTED TOMORROW!!!!!

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011
Meet:
The Bicycle Garage
5006 Mowry Ave.
Fremont CA 94538

Meet @ 7pm. Ride leaves at 7:30pm!

In order for our racers to get familiar with Fremont and the surrounding area, I will be hosting a group ride to allow riders a "sneak peak" at the area to be covered. I will not reveal any checkpoints, but we will be riding in CLOSE proximity to most of them. Any person wishing to do well in this race should involve themselves in this. Who doesn't need an excuse to ride????

This race is a week away! JAPAN FOREVER!

Hint!!!!!

I'm pretty sure people wouldn't want to go read on a weekend...or would they???

Dropping hints!

Hint #2...3...4...

Checkpoints will involve Fremont Fixed past rides...
We've had some good rides in the past. Bringing them back! For those non-local, look at a oval around Fremont. We usually did loops around the perimeter!

For those who don't know, Get to know Fremont as best as possible. The checkpoint spread does not only include Fremont...prepare to leave!

There was a checkpoint last year that had people very troubled. Get to know that area as best as possible. This area of Fremont is often overlooked...northern side

Good luck riders! The race is less than 2 weeks away! I have some fun plans for this!

IMinusD!!!!!

We are so lucky to have IMinusD as one of our event sponsors. Based out of San Jose, IMD was created by local riders, for riders. They cater to all aspects of fixed gear with such a wide variety of products, complete bicycles, and a legit repair area dedicated to making your bike run as smoothly as possible. I can say again that we are lucky to have such a great sponsor. I was very much inspired to see how much money they raised for Japan relief, great effort guys. If you're in the San Jose area, definitely check them out. They have much to offer. Look them up at IMinusD.com!!!

Also check out their red printed shirts! Every red t-shirt purchased will have proceeds going to Japan relief!

Chrome!!!!!

We have Chrome as a sponsor! They have been long known for making cycling bags, backpacks, shoes, apparel, and accessaries that are made to withstand the harshest weather conditions nature has to offer.
